LITTLE WAYS TO LIVE HAPPIER

Hello everybody! Today I wanted to write about little ways to live a happier life which has helped me move forward so I might as well share it with everyone who are having difficulties too.
You can’t completely change your life but there are ways of making it better. Although you might not see positive changes all the time, putting in work to make positive changes in your life will pay off. Changing your life for the better is about picking a destination and taking one step at a time to get there.

1- Remove Bad People From Your Life:
From my perspective, removing the bad people from your life is the first step to your personal happiness. People who influence you and make you feel bad about yourself isn’t someone you want to keep in your life. You may feel guilty at first but over time without their negative influence in your life, you will likely feel better. Believe me, it can be tough but don’t you worry. Your happiness is as important as theirs.
Also remember that having a hundreds of friends isn’t as special as having one loyal and humble friend.

2- Discover Who You Are:
Discovering what type of person you are can be easy sometimes or hard. If you have difficulty, try to list some of the things you like and dislike about yourself for example: honest but rude.
When you have your list ready, you can set up a goal for the day. If you are rude, try to be very friendly to someone. Doing this everyday may help improving your lifestyle.

3- Living in the Moment (Watching Out for Negative Thinking) :
We all get into the habit of thinking about the past or future and we do not realize that we completely forget to live in the present. Thinking about the past and the things that you should’ve done instead isn’t going to help you get anywhere and thinking about the future will not either because it hasn’t come yet.
Instead, go outside and explore the nature. Have some fresh air and experience your sensations freely. Look for those little bright moments that happen all the time but that we all often fail to recognize. Make a point of seeing some good in every day, and you will change your life.

4- Always Be Grateful for What You Have:
Time is short, mistakes are costly.
When you will start remembering what you have instead of worrying about what you may not be getting, it will change your perspective for the better. I mostly find myself wanting more than needing as well but I realized that there is no use.
Embrace the little that you have in life.

5- Do More of What Makes YOU Happy:
This is something really important. There will be people who will try to bring you down and stop you from doing things you love mostly because they don’t want to see you happy. But putting yourself out there can grow your confidence, have freedom and be more social.
If you love painting, singing, writing, reading, drawing, taking photographs, etc, please do it and don’t let anyone stop you.
When you will think back on your life, when you’re fifty-five or ninety years old, you will look back at the course of your lifetime. You’re not going to think: ‘I wish I owned a better phone’ , ‘I wish I spent more time on the internet’ , ‘I wish I spent more time at work or sleeping’ , it’s not going to be any of those kinds of things.
It’s going to be ‘I wish I spent more time with the people I love’ because our relationships build us, they define us, they sustain us, and they can break us.
Make no mistakes. Relationships are the single most important thing to you in your life. It’s the source of all your best memories and the source of all your worst memories.

There is this Japanese word called ‘kintsuji’ which is an art when you take broken pottery and you repair it using precious metals like gold, platinum and silver. You use them to make the pot more beautiful. More stunning. It’s not just an art form but also a philosophy which treats damage and its repair as an opportunity. Something to take advantage of, not to conceal. This is exactly what can happen to us.
Sure your life might leave you with a few cracks but those cracks, those imperfections, those are sources of strength and beauty because it doesn’t have to leave you broken, because you’re stronger than you know.
Much love,
Salina.
