Sometimes we get caught up in things that we aren’t suppose to be in and have no clue as to how we got there, and when we do realize, it’s hard to go back to how things were. Or generally, it feels like wherever you go, there is negativity. I know how it feels like to be in a place where people are constantly judging you and others; a place where there is no happiness and peace. Trying to find yourself a positive surrounding isn’t that hard but if you want it to be, then it will be. We hold on to things and people who aren’t a fit for you but we still keep them because they give you company and it make you feel less lonely. Self worth is very important and the reason why I am mentioning this to you right now is because you matter and that it’s okay to let people go if that’s the path to find your positive spot. So first thing’s first:
1.It All Starts With You:
What makes you feel like you’re in a negative surrounding? Are you listening to gossip or people criticizing? Everything you say has an impact; saying something negative not only makes the person you’re speaking about and the person you’re speaking with look bad, but it also makes you feel bad even if you don’t realize it. Learn to respect people’s humanity and their right to be themselves.
2. Speaking Up:
If you feel like there’s something you should be honest about to someone, then tell them. Don’t start a war inside yourself. Tell them, “This won’t work for me.” Simple and non-judgmental. Just bringing it to their attention can be enough to shift the conversation. Over time, people will learn what they can and cannot discuss with you, and it will stop being an issue. If you say nothing, your silence gives them permission to continue.
3. Take it Slow:
Trying to do things in a rush will just cause stress to build up. And stress leads to negative thoughts. If you ever find yourself in that position, slow down for a couple of minutes, take deep breaths – until your mind and body calms down. It becomes easier to think things through again and gives you a chance to not do anything that you’ll regret later on.
4. Waking Up and Looking Forward to Something:
I want you to think about this for a second: what do you really wake up to? Do you have something in particular? Or is the first thing you do is check your social media? Yeah I caught you there! I know you do. Well it’s time for you to change up your morning. Go for a walk, read a book, meet new people, try something you’ve never done. Doing this will show a part of you that you’ve never seen before and you’ll be so much more happier and positive everyday.
5. Learn to Let Go:
It’s easy to hold on, but it’s hard to let go. And sometimes letting go is the best option. Yes, it may not be easy. You might even feel pain but it’s okay. Cry it out if you have to. Change your perception. Or do some yoga. Do something that will make you feel better. It gets better everyday, believe me.
Alright, I could go on and on if I have to but you get the idea of how to keep a positive surrounding. I gave you the pixel, now you solve the image. Honestly, it’s not that hard. You just have to be comfortable to speak up and tell yourself that you MATTER. We all do and we all need to stay away from things that can change the way you think. Do it now before it can lead to a bigger problem. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve ever experienced something between the lines of getting caught up with bad people/bad habits, etc. I’d love to read through them and help you out. Okay so before I start to write more than I need to, I’m going to sign off here. I hope whoever is reading this right now would have a wonderful day.
